The puppies got their first taste of food today. I blended puppy food with bone broth. Gingersnap and Snickerdoodle enjoyed it and lapped it up eagerly. Tagalong wasn't particularly interested.

Butter ended up eating most of it.

Then on Thursday we got their 4 week weights, and have them their first dewormer, pyrantel paomate. This is preventative medicine, and not because of any underlying symptoms. The dose we used was .1 mL per pound of body weight. But pyrantel paomate comes in different strengths. Ours was 50mg/ml. (I am not a vet, nor am I giving you medical advice of any kind!)

Today was a big day for the puppies! They spent some time outside of the pen, and played in some water.

It was also the first time any of them drank water.

I'll try to post some more video on Facebook in a few days.

Gingersnap got his front feet up on the wire last night while trying to get out to play with his mama, who was lying just outside the weaning pen.

My 6yo snuggling with Tagalong. Gingersnap looks like a stuffed animal by her head.

And the puppies are getting much steadier on their feet, so I'm going to start introducing some small obstacles for them.

Sunday they played with a little medicine cup, and Monday we gave them a jump rope.

The pictures in this post are the first installment from my sister's photoshoot.
