The puppies have reached one full week of life!

They still haven't opened their eyes, but they are starting to look like they might "wake up" soon.

The kids were able to help me cuddle puppies today. Butter also spent some time outside playing with the neighborhood kids, and she joined us at suppertime under the table, like before.

Gingersnap did a tiny little "bark bark bark!" in his sleep today! They're still just making squeaky noises when they're awake, but it was absolutely adorable!

Butter received her monthly flea/tick treatment today. We live in a heavily infested area, so I had to do some research when the vet initially said there was no safe treatment for pregnant or nursing dogs. The dog breeding community on Facebook pointed me towards Revolution. I asked my very and she agreed that it was safe, and a better choice than going unprotected in this area. Obviously, the puppies are too young to be treated themselves but we're providing them with herd immunity by keeping the cats and Butter protected.

We only did 3/5 of the ENS positions today, because Butter had enough of people messing with her pups and was showing signs of stress. She did so good letting the kids handle the puppies during the day, but by evening she was done.
