Eva Hallock, Bookkeeper

I came to bookkeeping through mistakes I made running my own small business. The lessons I’ve learned from those experiences, guidance from my mentor, and Intuit’s bookkeeping course have given me a practical understanding of what small business owners need most: clarity, organization, and confidence in their finances.

I love taking the stressful parts of running a business off your plate so you can focus on the parts you enjoy. The stressful parts of your job are the fun parts of mine.

What's in a name?

Five years ago, when our family moved into our home, life felt like a whirlwind. We were stepping into something new and trusting God to provide and guide each detail. It was a season of faith, the kind where you move forward even when you cannot see the full path ahead.

One evening, while we were visiting family, a violent storm passed through our neighborhood. A neighbor called to tell us that lightning had struck an enormous oak tree in our yard.

When we returned home, we found that nearly a third of the tree had split and fallen. The branches had come so close to our house that they scratched the siding. In that moment, the chaos felt overwhelming, and the damage seemed severe. But in the clear light of day, it became apparent that what had felt so near to disaster had passed by, and we were safe. That moment was a powerful reminder of God’s care and provision, even when life feels uncertain.

Sundered Oak was named in honor of that experience. That sundered tree became a symbol that plans may shift, challenges may come, but with trust and guidance, we endure and move forward. My goal with Sundered Oak is to provide thoughtful, steady bookkeeping so that even when challenges arise, your business can continue with confidence.
