Angel, Jingle (Paisley), Hope (Gracie), and Comet (Charlie) have all found homes. And since we're keeping Coco (formerly Alexis), we've only got two left. Pluto, male, and Peace, female.

So here are our updates this week.

I've pushed back the puppies going home from 8 weeks to 9, primarily because they all still cry for Mama to nurse them first thing in the morning, and she still lets them for a minute or two. I think they would do okay going home this weekend, but I think the transition will be easier with another week of weaning.

We took the puppies outside of the fence into the garden and orchard this week.

I put an extra tarp down for the puppies' indoor pen to give them more space when they are inside. Honestly, there isn't very much awake time spent indoors anymore, though.

Coming up:

First bet appointment on Saturday.

We've been busy since my last post.

The puppies now spend most of their time outside, now that it's been warmer.

ree

They still take their naps in their crate most of the time, especially if they've been playing outside in the cold. They still like to pile on top of one another to warm up.

ree

I foolishly followed some advice to use wood chips as litter, and I did a terrible job of implementing it anyway, so that was a fun huge mess that they enjoyed.

ree

We're uploading lots of videos and reels onto our Facebook page, so please stop by there for more.

And finally, so that my title will be true, please enjoy this upside down puppy. This is Hope. She can be told apart by her adorable white spot on her lip.

It seems like it's been forever since my last post. In terms of puppy activities, it's been a big few days.

For starters, we've made a second exercise pen for the puppies in the living room.

ree

It's been too cold to take the puppies outside here. So I brought them a pile of leaves. Into my home. Like an insane person. I haven't yet, but I'll post some videos of this on my Facebook soon.

Butter has been waking me up in the middle of the night to feed puppies because she is done being bitten while nursing. I can't really blame her. But I did put some dry food in their pen to see if they might be ready for it. They gulped that stuff down like Cookie Monster. They've already been eating slop for a while. That's what I've been calling their food mixed with hot water to soften it.

And finally, my sister came over for a photo shoot yesterday so I can make some cute ads. But, I put a blanket up for the background, and it was the only thing the camera wanted to focus on. We got a couple cute ones, but, lesson learned for next time: Only a solid background next time we've got moving targets.

This is a picture of my sister laughing hysterically because the puppies kept licking her toes.
